Bulk Pick Up Day in Bay de Verde - June 8th & September 21st, 2015

Eastern Waste will be having a Bulk Item Pick Up Day for Bay de Verde on Monday June 8th & Monday September 21st, 2015.

Bulk items must be placed at the curbside/roadside by 7 a.m. on the day bulk collection begins in the area. Please keep in mind that it may take a number of days for bulk items to be collected from all residents.
***Collectors WILL NOT return for items placed at the curbside/roadside after 7 a.m. A limit of 500 lbs/226 kgs or one pick up load (whichever is the lessor) will be collected from each household. 

Items ACCEPTED for bulk item pickup:
Sofas, tables, chairs & furniture
Children’s toys
TVs, computers, desks and bookshelves
Fridges, stoves, washers, dryers & additional household appliances
Box springs and mattresses
Dressers, bathroom fixtures
Carpet and flooring tied in rolls less than 1.5 m or 4 ft, less than 22 kg or 50 lbs
Tree limbs tied in bundles less than 1.5 m or 4 ft, less than 22 kg or 50 lbs
Doors, window boxes – glass must be removed
Iron & removable car parts less than 22 kg or 50 lb; all fluids such as oil, lubricants & antifreezes must be removed by resident prior to collection
Other bulk items normally associated with a household
All bulk items must be properly bundled. All loose items must be boxed.

Scattered or loose items will not be collected – all items must be bundled and tied.

Items NOT accepted for bulk item pickup:
Shingles & construction materials
Regular household garbage
Vehicle parts greater than 22 kg or 50 lbs
Fish nets
Car wrecks, car chassis & frame
Animal carcasses & special wastes
Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) such as motor oils, solvents, propane tanks, paints – oil and latex, paint stripper, pesticides, glues, etc.
Brick & concrete
Earthen materials including stumps & large trees
Cardboard or paper products
Excrement & liquid waste

The province has established Eastern Waste Management (EWM) as the organization that will advance waste management and assist communities to implement the Provincial Waste Management Strategy in the Eastern Region. EWM is working with all the sub-regions to ensure the best waste management program is in place for its communities.

Most recently, a joint contract has been awarded to Ridge G&P Services Ltd. to provide curbside waste and recycling collection in Trinity Conception North for the communities of Heart's Content, New Perlican, Winterton, Turk's Cove, New Chelsea, Hant's Harbour, New Melbourne, Brownsdale, Lead Cove, Sibley's Cove, Old Perlican, Grates Cove, Bay de Verde, Red Head Cove, Low Point, Caplin Cove, Lower Island Cove, Jobs Cove, Burnt Point, Gull Island, Northern Bay, Kingston, Western Bay and Ochre Pit Cove.
