Waste Disposal

The province has established Eastern Waste Management (EWM) as the organization that will advance waste management and assist communities to implement the Provincial Waste Management Strategy in the Eastern Region. EWM is working with all the sub-regions to ensure the best waste management program is in place for its communities.

Most recently, a joint contract has been awarded to Ridge G&P Services Ltd. to provide curbside waste and recycling collection in Trinity Conception North for the communities of Heart’s Content, New Perlican, Winterton, Turk’s Cove, New Chelsea, Hant’s Harbour, New Melbourne, Brownsdale, Lead Cove, Sibley’s Cove, Old Perlican, Grates Cove, Bay de Verde, Red Head Cove, Low Point, Caplin Cove, Lower Island Cove, Jobs Cove, Burnt Point, Gull Island, Northern Bay, Kingston, Western Bay and Ochre Pit Cove.
